the different views from the bus window during the journey from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap
during the stops we saw them selling those deep fried crickets.. and yes we bought some to try! hey, that wasn't just a pose, i ATE it.. and since its crispy and has flavour (this was cooked with spring onion, chillies etc) its not too bad, better than sago worm perhaps
yet i won't try those bigger bugs, like spiders, scorpions, cockroaches etc.. deep fried cricket is just fine just for the experience..
and finally, real food! bought some of this dumpling with beans inside.. was hoping there's a salted egg
6-course lunch stop
then we went to the Silk Farm in Siem Reap
the many processes of getting the silk
and the tedious process of weaving it into beautiful cloths.. wow
visiting the museum with the different costumes made of silk
buffet dinner at Amazon Angkor
the vietnamese spring rolls again! seems that Cambodia cuisine has other countries eg. Vietnam, Thailand.. etc influences as well
fish amok! steamed fish curry but in solid state in individually wrapped pandan leaves.. and coconut popsicles!
the advantage of this dinner venue is they have tradisional dance performances as well for diners to enjoy while feasting in the buffet..
next stop our hotel, Angkor Palace Resort & Spa, also 5-star! and its located on this street full of big grand hotels! Siem Reap really is a tourist attraction
around the resort
entrance to the hotel room block
nice room indeed
and the lovely view at night, with these flowers that are everywhere!
better be well rested to visit the famous temple here, Angkor Wat!
